Bhubaneswar: A total of 71 acres of land was allotted to 38 industrial projects in and around Bhubaneswar, the capital city of the state on Monday. The projects will entail an investment of Rs 500 crore and generate employment for 4,000 persons. The projects are in food processing sector, textile, and plastics. Investments will be made in vegetable and oil refinery, instant pasta, vermicelli, sweet potato and packaged drinking water besides garments manufacturing and manufacturing of boats, barges, tugs, chemical taks .
The land allotment committee, chaired by chief secretary A.P. Padhi, allotted the lands in the industrial estates of Khurda, Deras, Mancheswar, Rasulgarh, Andharua, Janala, Bhagabanpur, Chhatabar and Analapatna. Padhi directed the officials that the investors use the land for the purpose.
