Bhubaneswar: The Odisha tourism department has decided to upgrade and promote the heritage home stays in Odisha.
The state tourism secretary, Vishal Dev, told the Royal Heritage Properties, an association of owners of various royal places in Odisha, that the government would promote the facilities in its tourism road shows in India and abroad. He said that the properties would be given official recognisation by duly certified by the tourism department .
Dev was chairing a meeting with the Royal Heritage Properties, here on Friday.
The convener of Royal Heritage Properties, Jagdish Mardaraj, suggested that the tourism department should also make available brochures about the heritage home stay facilities in the state in railway stations and airports.
Home stay facilities have been created in royal palaces of Dhenkanal, Nilgiri, Aul, Kalahandi and Badamba. Amarjyoti Singhdeo, the scion of Dhenkanal royal family has developed 16 well-furnished suits to be offered for home stay of the tourist.
