Bhubaneswar: The Post-conception & pre-natal diagnostic technique (prohibition of sex selection) Cell of the Odisha government’s health department has registered a case against the Kalinga Hospital on suspicion of carrying out sex determination test violating the PC PNDT Act,1994.
The officials of the Cell with the support of the district administration raided the hospital on Tuesday and seized two ultra-sound machines.
Health & Family Welfare joint director Dr.Binod Bihari Rath and the Khorda additional district magistrate Purander Nanda accompanied by Khorda district hospital officials raided the hospital and conducted the search operatins. During the search operations several incriminating documents were found leading to suspicion that the hospital was indulging in sex screening.
