Bhubanewar: The Odisha government has come out with a clarification regarding the news about the senior IAS officer Gagan Dhal’s resignation from service.

A press release from the chief secretary office has clarified that Dhal has not resigned from the service. It has stated that Dhal on August 6 has requested that he may be relieved from the service citing personal engagement. His request, however, has not been accepted, said the official press release.

Media has reported that he has resigned protesting against appointment of Asit Tripathy, an officer junior to him, as chief secretary ignoring his seniority.

Dhal has not resigned from service expressing his displeasure over appointment of CS. In fact, he has applied to be relieved from service on 6th August, much before the decision regarding appointment of CS was taken by government.
