Bhubaneswar: The State government has decided to set up a Odisha Maritime Board to control, manage and administer the minor ports and , international navigation activities in the Odisha waterfront.

The State cabinet on Friday has decided to set up the Board which will also function as a Single Window Facilitator for development of maritime projects. The Board will encourage development of minor ports in PPP mode.

The State government has identified 14 sites along the Odisha coast for development of minor ports. Out of these sites, ports have become operational at Dhamra and Gopalpur. Two more ports are coming up at Astarang and Subarnarekha mouth.
