Bhubaneswar: ITER university emerged as the winner with Vogue Brigade from XIMB as the runners up in the Carnival De Vogue, the fashion competition event of Xpressions, the annual cultural fest of XIMB.
The theme of the Carnival De Vogue, this year was “Time period – taking the fashion of 60s,70s, 80s & 90s and modernizing it”. Carnival De Vogue was hosted on Saturday, the second day of the Xpressions. Like every year, Carnival De Vogue attracted all the fashionistas of XIMB, who gathered in large numbers to witness the style icons. This year, Carnival De Vogue, had two rounds, the first round was on the theme ‘The Time Period’ and the second round was on the theme ‘Colours of Life’. Fashion designer Reemli Mohanty presided over the event to judge the participants’ performances.
The competition witnessed participants from three different colleges who came together to showcase their beauty, glamour and grace at XIMB. To make Carnival De Vogue a raging success, students from Birla Global University, ITER and XIMB participated in huge numbers. After hours of battling it out in style and elegance, the team from ITER university emerged as the winner with Vogue Brigade from XIMB as the runners up.
On the opening day, Decibelz, the much-awaited battle of bands competition, witnessed a fierce battle among troupes from various institutions.
However Jugnu from Kolkata University champion trophy. Cross Affinity from KiiT uuniversity ended up as runners up.
The competition witnessed six teams who enthralled the audience with their electrifying performances. To make Decibelz a big hit, Jugnu from Calcutta University, God has your own name from KIIT Alumni, Cross Affinity and W.A.K.E from KIIT Bhubaneswar, Shroud of Hope from SCB Medical College and Souls from VSSUT Burla, brought together great diversity, with bands spanning across many different genres, filled with overwhelming competitiveness, and also a sense of camaraderie and mutual respect among the music aficionados who gave their best performance on this huge stage.
