Cuttack: Odisha Director General of Police Satyajit Mohanty has placed inspector Sarat Chandra Mahalik under suspension for Rairangpur college lady lecturer suicide case. Mahalik, IIC Jharpokharia police station in Mayurbhanj district, had been transferred after the incident.
Mahalik has been placed under suspension for gross negligence and dereliction of duty in monitoring of Jharpokharia P.S Case No. 125 Dtd. 30.10.2019 U/s 376 / 505 IPC, said the suspension order. It further said that the case relates to suicide of lady lecturer of Rairangpur College which has tarnished the image of Odisha Police.
