Bhubaneswar: Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik reiterated the demand for first freedom movement of the country tag for Odisha’s Paika Bidroha.
” I have been demanding for first freedom movement of the country tag for Odisha’s Paika Bidroha”, Patnaik said while speaking on the occasion of the foundation laying ceremony of Paika Bidroha Memorial at Khorda on Sunday.
The chief minister said Odisha was independent till 1803. It was in1817, Buxi Jagabandhu was first in the country to raise the flag of revolt against the British government. The historical uprising is known as Paika Bidroha.
The chief minister said Odisha was ruling from Ganga to Godavar at one point of time in histroy.
