Bhubaneswar: The Odisha chief minister and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) supremo Thursday asserted the regional party would continue even after him.
Patnaik, while addressing the party’s MPs. MLAs, leaders and workers on the occasion of 23rd Foundation Day of BJD, said that the BJD is not dependent on him nor any other leader of the party.
“Biju Janata Dal is not a political party and it is not dependant on some or other leaders including me for its survival and growth,” he said.
“BJD has become a movement of four and half crores of people for empowerment and development,” Patnaik added.
The BJD supremo said, four and half crores of people are his family and he is working 365 days to win their hearts with better services, and added, “BJD has become an identity of Odisha’s development.”
Patnaik, while quoting his father Biju Patnaik said, “Do not be loyal to me but be loyal to the cause of Odisha’s destiny.”
He thanked the BJD workers and leaders for their dedication and sacrifice which act as ‘oxygen’ to provide energy to the party.
