Bhubaneswar: The Odisha chief minister, Naveen Patnaik, initiated Promotion Adalat to take up 2273 applications in the first round. The Adalat will meet for three days from January 28.
The State chief secretary, Asit Tripathy, while presiding over the all secretaries meeting, here on Friday, directed that the due diligence of all the applications be completed before the Adalat commence its sitting. The general administration and public grievance principal secretary, Sanjiv Chopra, outlined the administrative and normative issues regarding Promotion Adalat for discussion.
Chopra said that applications were invited from the aggrieved employees on line and the last date for the same was January 23, 2020. A total number 9809 applications were received by the last date. Taking into consideration of the number of applications, it was decided to hear the applications in multiple rounds . In the first phase 2273 applications would be taken up for hearing. The second round of hearing would take place on Febuary 27,28 and 29, 2020, Chopra said.
The Adalat, which will seat in six places, will take up cases of the aggrieved employees who were eligible for promotion by December 31, 2019 but were deprived off for some or other reason.
