Puri: The Puri Sri Jaganath Temple Management Committee has decided to park its fund in public sector banks (PSB) only.
The temple chief administrator, Krishna Kumar, said that 50% of the temle corpus fund will be deposited with the PSB that will offer highest interest in the bidding process. The remaining 50% fund will be parked with the PSBs that have finished H2 and H3 provided they matched the interest rate of H1.
The Temple Foundation Fund, however, will be deposited in State Bank of India (SBI) as per the State government’s standing order, said Krishna Kumar.
Krishan Kumar also said that the Committee has also decided to urge the State government to form a Committee under the chairmanship of revenue secretary to trace the temple lands so that those could be monetized.
The committee meeting, which was held under the chairmanship of Puri Gajapati Maharaja Dibya Singh Sekher Dev, also decided that the Galapati Maharaj will write a letter to the ISKON not to organise Ratha Yatra in any other time except during the Puri Ratha Yatra.
Krishna Kumar said that the State government will be requested to take up the matter with the Maharastra government.
ISKON has recently organised a Ratha Yatra in Mumbai. Similarly, a Ratha Yatra was organised in Ludhiana in Punjab last year. The Ratha Yatra conducted other than during the Puri Ratha Yatra has been protested by the Sevayats and others.
