Bhubaneswar: Odisha government Thursday suspended the executive officer of Nimapara NAC in Puri district.
Mohan Charan Jena, an Odisha Revenue Service (ORS) officer was found to be failed in disbursing the Rs 1000 cash assistance to the National Food Security Act beneficiaries in the Nimapara urban areas.
The director, municipal administration, Sangram Natal, has placed Jena under suspension for his ‘gross negligence and dereliction in duties during crucial time of COVID-19 emergency ‘.
The suspension order said, “As reported by Puri Collector, Jena has failed to discharge his assigned duties during distribution of cash assistance of Rs 1,000 to ration card holders under National Food Security Act (NFSA) and State Food Security Scheme (SFSS) on April 10 against the assigned date on April 2.”
Moreover, the order, said, “The delinquent has failed to perform his assigned duties by not adhering to the Government order on social distancing during distribution of financial assistance to ration card holders in Wards-6 and 7 of Nimapara NAC.”
During the suspension period, Jena’s headquarters has been fixed as the office of the Project Director, District Urban Development Agency, Puri and he shall not leave the headquarters without obtaining prior permission of the competent authority.
