Rourkela: The chief executive officer(CEO) of Rourkela Steel Plant, Dipak Chattaraj, Thursday urged plant collective to strive to achieve the target of 12,000 tonnes Hot Metal production per day and 12,000 tonnes of consumption of metal by the Steel Melting Shop every day.
The CEO, while speaking at a workshop organised to deliberate and formulate strategies to achieve the Hot Meal production and metal consumption by Steel Melting Shop, said that the plant possesses the potential to achieve 12000 tonnes of hot metal production per day. The CEO emphasised on modifying the processes and approach to improve the operational efficiency. He also stressed upon data analysis to detect and fix shortfalls.
Dipak Chattaraj also urged the collective to make sincere efforts to reduce cost of the production and improve techno-economics so as to negate the effects of low NSR.
RSP executive director(works) Gautam Banerjee also addressed the workshop organised by the HR department of the Plant. The workshop was attended by General Managers and other Senior Officers of the plant.
Various departments of the plant like Blast Furnaces, Production Planning & Control, Research & Control Laboratory, Steel Melting Shop- I &II, Ore Bedding & Blending Plant, Sintering Plants and T&RM made presentations in the workshop with reference to the role of the respective departments to achieve the 12000 tonnes Hot Metal tonnes production per day.
