Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government shifted its attention on migrant workers that are now entering to the State following lockdown in other States.

A total number of 78233 persons have come from other states to different districts of Odisha. A maximum 11,084 persons have come to Ganjam district while to Balasore 6442 persons have come. As many as 4448 and 4306 persons have come to Kalahandi and Phulbani district respectively. “Keeping in view the health condition of the persons returning from outside, the Sarpanchas of GPs have been instructed earlier to motivate these people how to go for self quarantine voluntarily for 14 days at their residence”, said Subrato Bagchi, chief spokesperson of government of Odisha on COVID-19. He said that the Panchayat Samitis and district authorities have also been instructed similarly.

Stating that the State has stepped up its procurement of medicines and medical devices, Bagchi said Odisha State Medical Corporation has declared incentive for early delivery of medicines and medical equipments like 50% extra for delivery in 7 days, 25% extra for delivery in 15 days and 10% extra for delivery in 30 days. Full cost of transportation along with full payment within 24 hours of delivery has been assured.

Upon the request of Government IFFCO has been the first to respond to contribute essential medical equipment like portable ventilators, masks and sanitizers etc. The first lot has already reached.

Giving the health updates Bagchi said, as on 12 noon of Wednesday, 133 samples were sent for COVID-19 examination and reports of 129 samples have been obtained. Reports of other 4 samples are pending. No new positive case has been found. Thus positive case stands at 2.
Health condition of the 2 identified patients is asymptomatic and stable. They are taking normal diet supplied by respective hospitals.
It is reported that 55 persons had come in contact with the COVID-19 patient. Communication has been made with 55 persons. About 100 monitoring teams are working for the purpose across the State, including 10 teams in Bhubaneswar. He said as of now 4015 persons have been registered through 104 Helpline and portal. And, about 36 persons are in Hospital Isolation, he informed.
