Bhubaneswar: Odisha energy minister Dibya Sankar Mishra has urged the four power distribution companies (Discoms) to jointly set up an energy safety training centre in the State. He was speaking on the occasion of National Energy Safety Week.
He said that given the rapid industrialisation and tremendous growth in domestic consumers, there is an urgent need for strengthening the safety net for the workers and the consumers.
The energy principal secretary, NB Dhal, said that there was no casualty due to electrocution during the cyclone ‘Yaas’.
Energy safety expert S. Gop Kumar, TPNODL CEO Bhaskar Sarkar, Engineer-in- Chief Santosh Kumar Das and TCL chief engineer Sourajit Ray also spoke on the occassion.
