Ranchi (Jharkhand) : The 75th Independence Day was celebrated at NTPC Coal Mining Headquarters, here on Sunday with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour.
On the occasion, Regional Executive Director (Coal Mining) Partha Mazumdar hoisted the national flag with a guard of honour and salutation to the national anthem.
Mazumder on this auspicious shared the major achievements of NTPC and NTPC Coal Mining Division.
While talking about NTPC’s digitization initiatives, Mazumder expressed sincere thanks to NTPC management for its vision and guidance, especially for implementation of digital initiative “PRADIP” for paperless office work. In this direction, the coal mining division is going to digitize about 90 lakhs pages pertaining to all statutory clearances, land documents, railway planning, geological reports etc for all coal mining projects and headquarters.
He mentioned that amidst all odds, NTPC has achieved total coal production of 11 million tonnes (MT) during FY 2020-21. In this current FY, coal production is targeted as 13.25 MT, which is 20% more than last year’s achievement. Coal from our captive mines is in great demand because of its quality, size and low cost, Mazumder said.
Mazumder added that, being a new area for mining, it is our responsibility to build a culture that promotes sustainability, cost-effectiveness, performance, concern for project affected persons. To support our core business of power generation with quality fuel at a competitive price, it’s our prime responsibility to maintain sustainable coal production, maintaining a safe and environment-friendly work environment. He asked all to be very vigilant and to play a proactive role to achieve the goal of ‘Zero Incident’.
