Bhubaneswar: Shallu Jindal, renowned Kuchipudi dancer and Co-Chairperson of Jindal Steel and Power Ltd. (JSPL) Foundation received Aekalavya Award 2019 for her contribution in the field of ‘Indian Classical Dance’ during 11th edition of the Award ceremony held at Singapore’s prestigious historical venue Victoria Theatre on Monday.
Jindal is an acclaimed artist in kuchipudi dance style and has dedicated years to contemporise this classical dance across the globe. She is also founder of Jindal Art institute, which aims to spread far and wide rich artistic heritage of India and the world by exploring various dance forms.
Apart from this she had won various awards, which includes International Women’s Day award, Rajiv Gandhi Excellence Award, Art Karat Award for Excellence for Best Classical Danseuse and remarkable contribution in field of Indian Classical Dance, Artist of the Year Award for contribution in the field of Creative Art and several others.
She received the award from Padma Bibibushan Shilpiguru Raghunath Mohapatra in presence of Odissi dance Guru Dr. Ileana Citaristi and founder Lasyakala Dance Vision Saswat Joshi.
