Bhubaneswar: Puri Jagannath Temple administration has cancelled the tenders inviting interest offers from banks for parking temple funds. The administration has invited fresh bids from banks by March 26.
The Temple Development Administrator has sent the cancellation letters to the participating banks. He has also invited fresh bids from the bankers.
It was on March 18, the Temple administration had invited quotations from banks offering interest rates for fixed deposits for 3 years. Union Bank had emerged as the successful bidder by offering 5.75%.
In the fresh tender, the Temple administration has invited offers of interest rates for fixed deposit for one year instead of three years as stated in the earlier bidding.The Jagannath Temple administration is having nearly Rs 300 crore at its disposal to park in banks.
